Humboldt Seed Organization was founded in 2001 by Nathaniel Pennington in Humboldt County, California, the heart of the Emerald Triangle and reputedly home to more cannabis breeders per square mile than anywhere else on earth. HSO built its reputation on West Coast classics and has since built out one of the largest phenotype databases in the industry.

Sapphire genetics run through a chunk of the range here: Sapphire OG, Sapphire Scout, Mango Sapphire and Banana Sapphire all share that lineage. The Headband family shows up three times too, in Blueberry Headband, Double Fire Headband and 707 Headband. A run of strains carry the Fastflowering tag for a quicker turnaround than standard photoperiod genetics: Ice Cream Cake, Limited Edition Gushers, Peanut Butter Breath, Runtz and White Runtz. Dr Greenthumb's Em-Dog is a genuine collaboration with B-Real of Cypress Hill, a cross of OG Kush and Chem #4 bred by his friend and fellow breeder Keif Sweat, alongside a Dedoverde Haze Auto in the same Dr Greenthumb's line.
